Book 1, An Oregon Wine Country Romance
This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
In the first of Heather Heyford’s new series, set in Oregon’s Willamette Valley wine country, the grape isn’t the only source of intoxication . . .
Juniper Hart has her dream job—or rather, her dream job has her. Under Junie’s management, the winery her late father started is finally getting noticed. But she’s lonely, deep in debt, and overwhelmed with work. Even if she had time to date, the only men she meets are smug, stemware-breaking hotshots like Lieutenant Manolo Santos, whose good looks and smooth charm don’t half make up for the sour taste he leaves on Junie’s palate.
After years as an army engineer and a childhood in a restaurant kitchen, Manolo can see Junie’s winery is about to go sideways—and he’s bursting with ideas to help. Except Junie’s far too magnetic for comfort. He left New Jersey to escape becoming one more Santos man shackled to a captivating woman and a failing family business. But in the misty hills of Oregon, with a sip of supple Pinot on his tongue, pulling away is the last thing he wants to do . . .
“Between all the rich wine and delicious food dangled so temptingly in front of readers, expect to develop a few cravings while devouring this novel. This is a heartwarming romance with lots of spark and great chemistry.” —RT Book Reviews, 4 Stars
I like reading stories from Heather. I have read her previous alcohol stories. I was sure this would be just as good. I wasn't let down. This one is about wine that I know very little about. This sort of made me feel like the heroine is tied to the railroad track. Junie lost her Dad literally in their vineyard. She misses him. Her mom is a surgeon and wants to sell all of it. Janie refuses to sell. She meets Manolo with her friend Sam to push her wine to sell. Manolo isn't a grower but he loves to build and does it for Junie. She is her only help. I was surprised how much work comes to work before you can sell it. I would say for you to grab tissues close to you. I liked this book and would recommend it to anyone to read. I hope you will be interested in this wine story. Please choose to read this story! I volunteered to read and review this book.
This is a fantastic story of a woman, Juniper "Juni" Hart, striving to fulfill not only her lifelong dream but also her father's. She has turned the struggling vineyard around and with a little publicity she feels they will be on the right path to success. Juni has little time for a personal life so when Manolo Santos arrives in town she immediately puts up her walls and fights any kind of attraction. Manolo isn't a man that takes no as an answer immediately though. He knows Juni is completely focused on her winery but he also knows he has some ideas that can get her the notice she's looking for. If she will just give him an inch and let him help.
The story is set in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and the excellent descriptive writing of the author takes you there experiencing all the beauty the land has to offer. The romance that builds between Juni and Manolo is wonderful. It's slow and deep and let's you enjoy the changes in each of the characters. The entire story is wonderfully crafted with well developed characters and storyline. This is definitely a book I will be recommending to everyone.
