The Forgotten Ones
Book 1, The Danaan Trilogy
This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
Allison O'Malley's plan is to go to grad school so she can get a good job and take care of her schizophrenic mother. She has carefully closed herself off from everything else, including a relationship with Ethan, who she's been in love with for as long as she can remember.
What is definitely not part of the plan is the return of her long-lost father, who claims he can bring Allison's mother back from the dark place her mind has gone. Allison doesn't trust her father, so why would she believe his fairy tale about a long forgotten Irish people, the Tuatha de Danaan? But truths have a way of revealing themselves. Secrets will eventually surface. And Allison must learn to set aside her plan and work with her father if there is even a small chance it could restore her mother's sanity.
Let me preface this review by saying I got it for free.
It was ok. A feel good whimsical story about a young woman and her mentally ill mother who becomes whole after the long lost father reappears and they are taken a magical fairy land where everyone is beautiful, young and talented in each their own way. But beware. There is evil and mystery afoot. A good book on a lazy Sunday afternoon
this book would have been much better without the fantasy aspect. having a antisocial girl and her complicated life with her father, love life and mother's conditions would have been a good enough story for me. the moment the magic and dreams were introduced, i was pretty turned off.
It was so good and I could not stop reading I would recommend this to anyone!!!
