Hockey’s bad boy needs to clean up his reputation…
Bennett James has built his career at being the best, on and off the ice, and now it’s come back to bite him. The media has turned against him, and with a near career-ending injury, he needs to clean up his act and prove that he’s serious about the game. For Bennett, working with his old coach at his alma mater feels like a step back, but it might be just what he needs.
…and she’s going to help him do it.
Grace Wentworth has always been the good girl, and she’s tired of that stigma. She wants to prove that she can get down and dirty with the best of them. The problem? She doesn’t know how.
Bennett will teach the good girl how to be bad, if she pretends to be his goody two-shoes girlfriend in front of the media.
But what happens when the game becomes real?
How do you put into words a review of a book that is so moving to ensure you capture everything you need to see. Simple...you can't. I love books that captures my favorite characters.. Willow Creek and Trace and Olivia series has always been some of my favorite reads. But when you start mixing in books of their children it just gets better and better.
Bennett is a famous NHL player (and I LOVE hockey players) but this book is more about Bennett than his hockey playing. Grace is the daughter of Trace and Olivia, who is starting her freshman year away from her family and starting a new life for herself...then she meets Bennett. By chance they have a connection, which is real..they become friends, and come to an agreement where they help one another. Bennett needs more help from Grace than she does him, but it becomes more of him helping her than he realizes.
Bennett is a great guy, plagued by more issues than he can deal with on his own, which could be career ending if things are not rectified soon. Grace stands by him until things completely implode. How do you start a friendship where things are simple and feelings start to take over when you least expect it? How can you fix yourself when you truly just want to move forward and forget how you used to be? Can love and friendship be the answer of all things?
I truly loved this book. I was excited to see Dean, Willow, Lincoln, Liam and Ari- although briefly it was nice to read about them. You can see how Bennett and Grace feel about each other in this book. It was exciting to see the trust they had for one another, and the feelings they have is rare and beautiful. I cannot say more as it will spoil some of the plot, but everyone needs to read this. Even if you haven't read any of the other books, it won't matter. This is a standalone, but for those of you that have read the other books or previous series you will love it for different reasons. I received an ARC from the author for an honest review... And it is truly worth five stars.
Love this book!
Such a great addition to this series! I loved it so much!
