_______
For a Knight to win the Princess, he first must slay his dragons…
A tragic event in his youth led Gavin Knight's mother to whisk him to Rome, where he lived a simple but secluded life—until, on her deathbed, she revealed who he truly was: the Duke of Cortleon.
Now twenty-nine, Gavin has returned to England, determined to learn what happened all those years ago. Despite charming his fellow lords and ladies alike, the new Duke disregards any notion of nuptials, as his honor first demands resolution--and retribution.
Then he meets Lady Elinor Greene.
For seven years, renowned beauty Elinor has refused all proposals, fearing marriage would curb her freedom. But when her family falls on hard times, Nelle must sacrifice herself to save them by marrying a man of means.
A wealthy widower seems the logical choice, a passionless union perfect. Until she meets the Duke of Cortleon, and learns one Knight can be legendary.
Soon Gavin and Elinor must each decide which quest is worth more: that for honor, or that for love...

Series: Put Up Your Dukes, Book 2
Genre: Regency historical romance (and my author also says it's historical suspense!)
Length: 108,000 words / 438 pages
_______
Though Book 2 in the series, The Legendary Duke can be read as a standalone - particularly because it ended up being set a year before Book 1, The Demon Duke. (Oops.)
For Arthurian legend fans, The Legendary Duke is loosely based on the tale of Gawain and the Green Knight, and Arthurian Easter eggs pop up throughout!

The Legendary Duke
This story is so good that I read it sooner then expected, I couldn’t stop reading this book, it’s a book I highly recommend and will definitely read more of your books, I love the history lesson you wrote at the end, it’s so very interesting but most of all I loved the way you wrote these characters in this book, Thank You.
It’s all here
A quest for justice, honor, a beautiful lady and a handsome duke, temptation, loving family (or not!), faithful friends, and a happy ending: what more could we ask? A truly enjoyable read.
Good villain and an unusual plot BUT...
It started off so strong—but in the end there was just so much filler that I couldn’t stop myself from skimming large chunks. The novel could have easily lost 200 pages. The plot twists were apparent from miles away , but with better pacing it wouldn’t have mattered. There was also way too much explaining. The villain was the most interesting and complex character—the hero and heroine not particularly interesting and possibly too perfect. That said, I would try again with this author. There is potential for better books down the road.
