“Jio has become one of the most-read women in America.” –Woman’s World
Born during a Christmas blizzard, Jane Williams receives a rare gift: the ability to see true love. Jane has emerged from an ailing childhood a lonely, hopeless romantic when, on her twenty-ninth birthday, a mysterious greeting card arrives, specifying that Jane must identify the six types of love before the full moon following her thirtieth birthday, or face grave consequences. When Jane falls for a science writer who doesn’t believe in love, she fears that her fate is sealed. Inspired by the classic song, The Look of Love is utterly enchanting.
Don't do it
This book is the equivalent of an ABC family cheesy movie that you continue to watch because you have already invested too much time in it.
I have read all of Sarah Jio's books, I enjoy her writing, its relaxing, filled with nice characters and lovely stories. However, I was not convinced by this book. I wouldnt call it cheesy, I think its an awful word. Its about love and the quest for love. Though she is correct in depicting very different kinds of love, I found the book too hard to believe. Life is just more complicated than that. And after so many books, I think she could try with a different twist. Anyway, if you are up for an easy reading, warming story, well this is your book, especially at this time of the year, one wants to be able to dream.
Yes it's cheesy, but it's good to read this kind of books once in a while. I definitely loved it. It's a really beautiful book. Sarah Jio is an amazing writer.
