A brilliantly imaginative and poignant fairy tale from the modern master of wonder and terror, The Ocean at the End of the Lane is Neil Gaiman’s first new novel for adults since his #1 New York Times bestseller Anansi Boys.
This bewitching and harrowing tale of mystery and survival, and memory and magic, makes the impossible all too real...

I'm sorry you're poor.
Since when does the price of a book have ANYTHING to do with how good it is?
Everyone posting 1-star reviews because of the price makes me sad.
Read the book. Get it from the library. Borrow it from a friend. Steal it if you have to. Then come back here and write a review based on the merit of the work.
If you don't like the price, write an angry letter to the publisher, or ask your boss for a raise.
You are obviously Gaiman fans, or else you wouldn't be here. Why would you do that to him? Do you think he set the price? Really?
Shame on you!
Longer than its # of pages
Terrific story! Probably my new favorite Neil Gaiman novel. Such a short book but what an immense tale. Bravo!
A very touching novel
I loved this book. There were several times where I found myself tearing up and couldn't identify why, exactly, that was happening. To me, that was a sign that Gaiman was touching something deep that I didn't fully understand. Some memory that was in resonance with the scene he was describing. I'll be re-reading it this weekend.
This is one of the most true and most honest pieces of fiction that I have read.
