Original Crime Thriller
It's nice to read a story that isn't full of the typical patriotic / good-guy vs. bad-guy BS. Most of the books out there are so contrived, made up nonsense featuring gunbattles between squeeky-clean, law-abiding cops and government agents fighting it out with gangs and cartels. None of that here. This story shows that there is corruption on all sides. There are no cardboard cutout characters, no stereotyped badguys, no flag-waving good guys. Just real characters caught up in a pressure-cooker plot that gets better and better with ever page.
