This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.
The unveiling of a set of priceless illustrations of Dante’s Divine Comedy at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence exposes Professor Gabriel Emerson and his beloved wife, Julianne, to a mysterious enemy.
Gabriel may have acquired the illustrations only a few years ago, but unbeknownst to him, they were stolen a century earlier from the ruler of Florence’s underworld.
Now one of the most dangerous beings in the city is determined to reclaim his prize and exact his revenge on the Emersons—but not before he uncovers something disturbing about Julianne…
Don’t miss the first novel in the Florentine series, The Raven, available February 3, 2015.

I couldn't put this book down. Kept me on edge can't wait for the sequel; please don't crush Gabriel and Julianne happily ever after 😔
I really enjoyed this more than I expected to. Moving along with Gabriel & Julianne in the way only SR can transition us was perfect. I carried a grin through this novella enjoying what I already knew SR capable of, but being delighted to experience more of his talents. He can connect people like no one else this I knew, this I have felt. Now I know he can have me feeling the action, exhilaration, and build up of a new series I can't wait to dive into. Raven here I come and SR you should be proud! Thanks Mary Elizabeth
Difficult to say
First let me say that I love SR's writing. I adored the Gabriel series. The sensuality. The art. My husband and I tailored our visit to Florence based on what I read.
But I am just not into paranormal stuff. I knew this would be like that when I started but I love Gabriel and Julianne so much that I bought it anyway. Not thrilled at all about what the Prince said about Julianne. Nothing must happen to the Emersons since I always hope for a sequel.
As always the writing is good but the Prince is so evil. If you are a fan of paranormal, you will surely like this. Not for me.
