The Rock of Israel and Other Sermons

This book is available for download with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device. Books can be read with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.

Edmund Staunton (1600-1671), was an active Reformed minister, and member of the Westminster Assembly.

The three works contained in this volume are rare. His first sermon is on the "Rock of Israel," from Deut. 32:31, “For their rock is not as our Rock...” He shows that the nations have rocks, but they are idols. And that Christ is our solid Rock.

His second is a funeral sermon for Mrs. Wilkinson, wife of Divine, Henry Wilkinson, taken from 1 Thess. 4:14. He exhorts believers concerning the resurrection, and what it means to sleep in the Lord.

His third is on righteous judgment, combining zeal with godly judgment from Psalm 106:30, “Then stood up Phinehas and executed judgment...”

Included in this volume is an extended biography on the life of Staunton which is worth the cost of the volume.

This work is not a scan or facsimile and has been made easy to read with an active table of contents for electronic versions.
