Featuring videos and more than 1,000 color and black and white photographs and illustrations from the first 50 years of The Rolling Stones
On Thursday July 12, 1962 the Rolling Stones went on stage at the Marquee Club in London's Oxford Street. In the intervening fifty years the Stones have performed live in front of more people than any band... ever. They've played the smallest blues clubs and some of the biggest stadium tours of all time. They've had No.1 singles and albums in every country that has a popular music chart and have helped define global popular culture. A phenomenal half-century later, they now look back at their astounding career. Curated, introduced and narrated by the band themselves, The Rolling Stones 50 is the only officially authorized book to celebrate this milestone. With privileged access to a wealth of unseen and rare material, it is packed with superb reportage photography, contact sheets, negative strips, outtakes and so much more, from every period in the band's history.
With more than 1,000 illustrations, it also features some of the most rare and interesting Stones memorabilia in existence: international posters, draft record cover art, bubblegum cards, jigsaws and other previously unpublished treasures specially photographed for this volume.
Additional contributions by photography legends Gered Mankowitz, Jean-Marie Périer, Dezo Hoffmann, Michael Cooper, Terry O'Neill, Bent Rej, Philip Townsend and many others make this the definitive book to celebrate fifty years of the Rolling Stones.
From Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ronnie -- here is one spectacular thank you to their fans all over the world.

Truly musical history
Every aspect of this remarkable book evokes emotions, memories, and fascination. The 50 year history of the Rolling Stones is a refreshing and engaging look at one of the, if not the greatest rock 'n roll band of all time.
The book focuses on the music and how the band evolves during each of the past five decades. Many bands fail to survive for a myriad of reasons, but the Stones survive because they've kept working on the basic formula that made them so desirable. For the love of the music, they remix, rethink, rework, and polish what has always been considered a rough medium: Rock 'N Roll.
The combination of personal comments, photo galleries, and video clips makes this an interactive yearbook not to be missed. No doubt, millions of people will have personal memories stirred up as they browse thru each decade...
I was lucky enough to have seen the Stones live on more than 20 occasions, and had a few personal exchanges with them, as I grew up in the LA music scene of the 70s. I hadn't considered those days in years, and this book brought everything back as if it were just yesterday.
If you love music, and the impact it has had on our lives, this book is a must read. If you're just getting started with music, buy this book. Read it cover to digital cover. You'll discover what you missed and hopefully take the experiences home, so that new magic via Rock 'N Roll might move us again.
History is made
This book not only represents the incredible history of one of the greatest band's in history, but also represents the avant grade of where multi touch experiences can go but lovingly balanced within the beautiful re-imagining of a coffee table book. I have spent hours with this book and found it fascinating. For a band that has been all over the place, this book is organized in a way that gives context and clarity. Way to go Hyperion!
Fully utilizes the technology of an ebook. Fun to browse with Stones tunes running in background. My main dissapointment is this is only the history of the Stones in concert and not their recorded music hx. Which is the other half of their story. Wish they included their albums and major singles as well.
