“A gorgeously funny, romantic and seductive modern fairytale…
I have never laughed out loud so much in my life...incredibly funny, witty, romantic, swoony. It quite simply is unforgettable and impossible to leave behind. It just keeps replaying itself over and over again in my mind and making me lust for it— and more.

Enough laughs to satisfy fans of Bridget Jones. Enough sparkly shoes and breathtaking ball gowns for fans of Cinderella…
Twenty-eight-year-old Tessa Sharpe, a.k.a. The Royal Watchdog, hates everything about Prince Arthur. As far as she’s concerned, he’s an arrogant, lazy leech on the kingdom of Avonia. When he shocks the nation by giving her the keys to the castle in an attempt to boost his family’s dismal public approval ratings, Tessa has no choice but to accept and move in for two months. It’s lust at first sight, but there’s no way she can give in to her feelings—not if she wants to have a career or a shred of pride left when her time at the palace ends.
Ultra-private, ultra-hot Crown Prince Arthur has always gotten by on his charm. But that won’t be enough now that the Royal Family is about to be ousted from power once and for all. When Prince Arthur has to rely on the one woman in the kingdom who hates him most, he must learn that earning the love of a nation means first risking his heart…
Can two natural enemies find their forever in each other’s arms, or will they ruin each other to save themselves?

For your own safety: Do not read this book while driving, cooking, walking on slippery surfaces and/or crossing busy roads. Thank you.*
*PLEASE NOTE: The Crown Jewels Series is not a typical MJ Summers book. It’s a light romantic comedy, very heavy on the laughs with a low steam level (but lots of delicious sexual tension and some swearing).*
A great fairy tale twist that Pride & Prejudice fans will love!
I found this story to resemble Pride and Prejudice, while still maintaining it’s own uniqueness. I love when Tessa finds herself in situations that are hilarious and often, unflattering, it makes me relate to her even more. The chemistry and bantering between the main characters is constantly entertaining, and the family/friends are great for additional comedic moments. I laughed so hard while reading this story, and even cried a little. I can’t wait for the next installment!
Pee in your pants laughter!
First, this book is a lot of laughs. Imagine the worst, most embarrassing things that could happen to someone publicly, and this book has it. Shock Jogger… best scene ever. Even better when the Prince watched it. I about peed in my pants I was laughing so hard on that scene.
Tessa, the female protagonist, is intelligent and comes from an intelligent family—her brothers are engineers to dentists. However, she finds herself in the most embarrassing situations, from saying the wrong thing to her heel breaking during a ball. Hence, she is the joke of the family, and I will say the way Tessa’s family treated her was just appalling. She really had to grow some thick skin to deal with her family, which in turn helped her when she humiliated herself on world-wide television.
Prince Arthur, the male protagonists, invites Tessa to spend two months with the royal family since she is their worst critic and he needs to get her to change her opinion or the family is going to get booted from the crown and the monarch will dissolve. Of course, you can garner what happens when a man and woman live together for any period of time.
As a couple, they were truly adorable. They both have a great sense of humor, and Arthur especially is a dream. For a man not be offended whenever someone says something negative about them speaks volumes of his character. In fact, he encouraged it because it only helped him realize his flaws, and he learned to grow from them. Truly loved Arthur.
Oh, and Arthur’s grandmum was a real hoot! OMG, this woman was just as hilarious as Tessa’s faux pas. A dowager princess, she lived her life being prim and proper, but now in her 80s, she decides screw it and says and does whatever fancies her. It’s ridiculously entertaining. She is a top favorite character.
I see that Summers is writing another book on the Tessa and Arthur. After witnessing how she can easily gut you in this book and reading the synopsis, I’m going to have to take a long break before reading that one. Though it is sure to be full of even more laughs, the synopsis is foreboding and makes me want to shy away from it. I can only take so much drama at once.
