The Shame Game
Leaving Shame to Live in Abundance
Janice Sterling Gaunt
This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
As you look at a newborn child, you become overwhelmed by his preciousness. The miracle of birth checks your reality as you marvel at the tender softness of his skin and the sheer innocence of his being. Your heart is filled with love.
Without doubt, you recognize that the child’s value was established at birth. You know this to be an inarguable fact. The child’s value exists simply because he exists.
You know with absolute certainty that this child—every child—can never be of lesser value and has no obligation to obtain greater value. This child’s value, his full preciousness, simply is. This child is you.
Abundant living is everyone’s birthright. Toxic shame can impede your ability to live abundantly, and The Shame Game offers you the tools to claim your rightful inheritance. Although there have been books that address shame, healing shame, and abundant living, Janice Gaunt’s The Shame Game brings the three related issues together in a more informative, readable, and concise m
A Refreshing Read
Gaunt clearly understands the human condition and has a great, well-founded argument on the role that shame plays in it.
She very clearly demonstrates how powerful shame is in shaping our lives. She then guides you in a professionally concise, yet down-to-earth style, through exercises and techniques that successfully transform what she calls 'toxic shame' into what she identifies as 'living a life of abundance'. Hearing those terms pales in comparison to experiencing and understanding them as a result of reading this eye-opening book.
The Shame Game will still be finding new readers when 99% of the books in this genre published this year are long forgotten. I look forward to future work from this author.
