Something is trapped in the castle, and it wants to feed!
The Sorrows, an island off the coast of northern California, and its castle have been uninhabited since a series of gruesome, unexplained murders in 1925. But its owner needs money, so he allows film composers Ben and Eddie and a couple of their female friends to stay a month in Castle Blackwood. Eddie is certain an eerie and reportedly haunted castle is just the setting Ben needs to find musical inspiration for a horror film.
But what they find is more horrific than any movie. For something is waiting for them in the castle. A being, once worshipped, now imprisoned, has been trapped for nearly a century. And he’s ready to feed.
white knuckle horror.....
a must read. this book was hard to put down. very well written. I felt as if I was watching it as I was happening. the story is easy to follow even with all the characters. I'm looking forward to Mr Janzs' next story.
Great horror/suspense book!
I picked up the authors short work Old Order earlier in the year for something to read on a flight. While being short, it was a very entertaining tale. If you have a short trip to take or just feel like a novella, check it out! I decided to keep an eye on this Jonathan Janz fellow. I added him on FACEBOOK a short while later and did not think about it much more. Earlier this month I saw his feed blow up announcing a new full length book, The Sorrows. I grabbed it here on itunes and read through it in a few nights. All I can say is wow! Janz has matured greatly as a writer in a short amount of time. The Sorrows has many central characters who are of equal importance to the book. He weaves each of their stories together amazingly and makes each one important and reasl in their own right. Anyone who loves horror, gothic horror, and suspense will enjoy this book a lot. I look forward to his next book House of Skin. I do not usually write reviews, but I really think more people should find this author, he is good stuff!!
