The Third Target

A J. B. Collins Novel

This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.

Description

2016 Christian Book Award finalist (Fiction category)
When New York Times foreign correspondent J. B. Collins hears rumors that an al-Qaeda splinter cell—ISIS—has captured a cache of chemical weapons inside Syria, he knows this is a story he must pursue at all costs. Does the commander of the jihadist faction really have weapons of mass destruction? If so, who is the intended target? The U.S.? Israel? Or someone else? With tensions already high, the impending visit of the American president to the region could prove to be the spark that sets off an explosion of horrendous proportions. Knowing that terrorist forces are already trying to bring down two Arab governments in the region—Iraq and Syria—can Collins uncover the truth before it’s too late? Or will the terrorists succeed in setting their sights on the third target and achieving genocide?

From Publishers Weekly

Nov 24, 2014 – Known for his globe-spanning thrillers (The Twelfth Imam), many dealing with the interplay between radical Islam and the West, Rosenberg has ripped a page from current headlines with a heart-stopping plot about the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also commonly called ISIS). When New York Times reporter J.B. Collins is given unprecedented access to world leaders and terrorists, it puts him in a position to advise even the president of the United States about looming chemical weapons attacks and a "third target" besides Syria and Iraq. The plot is executed with well-paced precision, includes a mysterious Israeli love interest named Yael, and has more than enough to satisfy those who love over the top action, down to the last shocking word of the book. Rosenberg's writing skills are impeccable, yet some Christian readers may wonder whether the grisly violence he depicts and the xenophobia it stokes contradict the Christian gospel messages found in the book.

The Third Target

Fast-paced, exciting all the way. The ending is awesome and makes me eager for the sequel.

Another great one

No doubt part of a series as issues aren't quite resolved. Great book, great read, great characters. Anxiously awaiting the follow on.

The Third Target

Joel, I have read most of your other books.Without a doubt, this one is my favorite. The ending definitely implies a sequel, or perhaps made into a movie. I can't wait........thank you
