Publisher Description

Amber Gayle wanted to quantify what is "normal" for adult twin relationships. She devised a survey that was filled out by 150 twins (both identical and fraternal). They told her what they think are the best and worst things about being twins, how often they talk to their twin, how much they compete or try not to step on each others toes with interests and activities, and how much they depend on each other. The results are fascinating for any twin or friend and family member of a twin. They could also be useful for teachers or psychologists who work with twins, and have to guess what is healthy or normal in this unique relationship. The survey is included in the book so that twins can compare themselves to averages from the study. The results of the twin survey are compared to results from surveys of non-twin family relationships, which emphasizes the uniqueness of twins. Differences between identical and fraternal twins, and some surprising patterns in distinguishing between twin types, are also discussed.
