The Unleashing

Book 1, Call of Crows

This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.

Winging It

Kera Watson never expected to face death behind a Los Angeles coffee shop. Not after surviving two tours lugging an M16 around the Middle East. If it wasn't for her hot Viking customer showing up too late to help, nobody would even see her die.

In uncountable years of service to the Allfather Odin, Ludvig "Vig" Rundstrom has never seen anyone kick ass with quite as much style as Kera. He knows one way to save her life--but she might not like it. Signing up with the Crows will get Kera a new set of battle buddies: cackling, gossiping, squabbling, party-hearty women. With wings. So not the Marines.

But Vig can't give up on someone as special as Kera. With a storm of oh-crap magic speeding straight for L.A., survival will depend on combining their strengths: Kera's discipline, Vig's loyalty... and the Crows' sheer love of battle. Boy, are they in trouble.

From Publishers Weekly

Mar 02, 2015 – Laurenston (Bite Me) launches a series in an alternate contemporary setting populated by the Norse gods (with which she takes some liberties) and their mortal agents. Former Marine Kera Watson is stabbed in an alley and left for dead. To her shock, the Norse deity Skuld revives her and transforms her into one of the Crows, empowered to fight and kill as needed for her new mistress. As the disciplined, orderly Kera acclimates to her new role, she clashes with the laid-back, chaotic nature of her fellow Crows. She also falls for Ludvig "Vig" Rundstom, a warrior of the rival Ravens. Their cross-clan romance surprises and amuses everyone, especially those familiar with Vig's stoic nature. But soon they all have something more to worry about: cultists are using blood magic and stolen treasures to try to bring a long-forgotten goddess to the mortal plane. If they succeed, it could rekindle an ancient war. Laurenston's trademark blend of action, earthy humor, magic, and romance is on full display. Her characters enjoy profane language, screwball comedy, and lusty bedroom antics at every opportunity, while advancing a fast-paced, satisfying, and often deadly serious story.

Great read- first rebiew

As an avid paranormal romance and urban fantasy fan I was immediately intrigued by this preview. I finished this book and the sequel within 36 hours!! An absolutely amazing series and would recommend to all ! Was so enthralled that I wrote a review for the first time in years!!!

It was good but...

I loved the story line of this book, amazing.

I hated how many different point of views she wrote. I feel the book would've had a better ending for Kera and Vig if she had only done their POV, and then continued on the series with the other Crows, in their POV.
