Book 1, Scandalous Scots

This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.

For fans of New York Times bestselling authors Sabrina Jeffries, Cathy Maxwell, and Karen Hawkins...

As one of the bastards born to the Stirling court, Sorley the Hawk has never known his mother or father. It's a burning quest he has devoted himself to uncovering at any cost. But as a roguish warrior who serves at the pleasure of the King, his prowess-both on the battlefield and in his bedchamber-is legendary. So when a flame-haired Highland lass sneaks into his quarters with a tantalizing proposition, he can't resist taking her up on her offer . . .

Lady Mirabelle MacLaren will do anything to keep from marrying her odious suitor, even sully her own good name. And who better to despoil her than his sworn enemy, the one they call "Hawk?" As they set about the enjoyable task of ruining her reputation, Hawk and Mirabelle soon learn that rebellion never tasted so sweet.

From Publishers Weekly

Mar 24, 2014 – Excessively lush writing and an overabundance of one-sentence paragraphs mar the first in Welfonder's Scandalous Scots medieval romance series. Lady Mirabelle MacLaren is desperate to avoid marriage to Sir John Sinclair, a two-faced suitor. She proposes that Sorley the Hawk, a bastard warrior known to dislike Sinclair, ruin her in order to scare him off. Neither Sorley nor Mirabelle realizes that the other remembers their attraction-filled first meeting more than a dozen years earlier, which ended badly. Their plan of public disgrace forms the main story line, which improves once the lewdness turns to love. A secondary plot involves Sorley's antipathy toward his heretofore unknown natural father, and a plan to meet the man after Sorley completes a mission as part of the King's mysterious Fenris Guards; the long-winded setup leads to a meager payoff.
