From New York Times & USAToday bestselling author, Nicole Williams:
When he left for a twelve-month deployment, she knew it would feel like forever before they saw each other again. She didn’t realize how right she was.
When Lance Corporal Brecken Connolly gets taken as a POW, Camryn hopes for the best but steels herself for the worst. In the end, steel was what she needed to survive when he didn’t. She moves on the only way she knows how—gilding herself in more steel.
Years go by.
She builds a new life.
She leaves the old one behind.
Until one day, she sees the face of a ghost on the news. Brecken seems to have risen from the dead, but she knows she can’t perform the same miracle for herself. While Brecken was held in a torture camp for the past five years, she’s been trapped in her own kind of prison. One she can’t be freed from.
The man she mourned comes back to join the living, but the girl he wanted to spend his life with isn’t the same woman he comes back for. Brecken isn’t the same person either. The past five years have changed them both. While he’s determined to put the pieces back together, she’s resolved to let hers rot where they shattered.
Broken or not, Brecken wants her back. He’ll do anything to achieve that. Even if it means going against the warden of Camryn’s personal prison—her husband.

Torture at it's Best!
Another gripping book by Nicole Williams. I've come to expect Nicole's beautiful words and wonderful storytelling but Tortured may be my new favorite. This book gripped me from the very first page until the very last. This is a story of heartbreak, courage, love, hopelessness and strength. I loved Brecken and Camryn. Keenan stole my heart. I love the way this author develops her characters and makes me feel their very emotion. This story will be loved by many.
I love Nicole Williams' darker reads - there is just something so emotional, heartbreaking and breathtaking about them and TORTURED was no different.
There was always something pure about the relationship between Brecken and Camryn - two people who have loved each other as teens, knowing full well that they will be together FOREVER. Camryn must endure 12 months while Brecken is deployed but what is 12 months when he promises with his whole heart that he will return for her.
Gosh - everything you need to know about the story is in the blurb...this book literally killed me, broke my heart, tortured me....I could go on and on.
Seeing Brecken come back a hero but knowing all the pain and torture he endured, knowing that Camryn has also lived her own form of misery...my heart just couldn't take it all.
"Hey Blue Bird.” His voice was lower, his words raspier than before. “Sorry it took me so long to make it back to you."
^^THIS! OMG!! My heart!!!
But fear not readers who love romance and heroes who take our breath away - Brecken is all that and more and he will stop at nothing to win his girl back!
Tortured is well written and everything I love about a Nicole Williams book. Unforgettable characters, a story to touch my heart, and a smile on my face when I closed my kindle - this to me is EVERYTHING!!! PERFECTION!!!!
Beautiful Second Chance Story
WOW!! This book is everything. I haven't read a book that pulled this much emotion from me in such a long time. Not surprising, it was another Nicole Williams book, Collared, that last tore my heart out. Tortured surpassed that, with my heart stuck in my throat for almost the entire book. It was the prefect mixture of heartbreak and unconditional love.
Nicole's writing is superb, as always. You can feel the love shared between Brecken and Camryn, the torment and sadness that each has endured for the last six years they were apart.
Within the first few chapters, my heart went through an emotional wringer. Brecken completely captured my heart with his unconditional love for Camryn.
