Trials of a Teenage Werevulture
#1, Trilogy of a Teenage Werevulture

This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.
Lisette was expecting to be a werehawk. Now she's a werevulture.
Sure, she can still fly, but the garbage looks delicious. And everyone's afraid of her! Okay, everyone's afraid of her best friend, too, but her best friend chose to be a banshee.
Then the mysterious Rarity Clan invites her to join. They offer her friendship, and the ultimate secret: how to be turned a second time so that she could choose a different species instead. She could be a werehawk, or a vampire, specter, giant, lorelei, or whatever else she pleases. There's only one catch, and it's a big one.
The tool that's used to do that is a weapon that could destroy the entire city.
It's tough growing up!
I found this book to be very unique and love the concept! The main character Lisette, was perfectly portrayed as a disgruntled teenager struggling with not getting what she wants. The underlying meaning behind her trials mirrors many of life's challenges. Her journey to learn that there are bigger things than just what we want is illustrated perfectly. Highly entertaining, this is a great read! This voluntary review is based against an advance copy.
New fun YA fantasy series
I thought this story was a blast. I was hooked once I finished reading the first chapter. I thought the story was hysterical and I ended up laughing through most of it. Although the main character Lisette is a teenager, the story did not have the usual teenage angst. Plus the teens did not spend most of the story sighing over each other or chasing boys. It was actually a very clean story. I loved the Rarity Clan and cannot wait to learn all the mysteries surrounding them. We only got a taste and a few answers in this one. I loved the world that Lisette lives in. My honest review is - Loved the story, characters were very likable, and loved the new world. Cannot wait to see what happens next.
To turn or not to turn, that is the question
[Received this ARC from the author as a gift that I am voluntarily reviewing]
“If you think you’re in danger, the best thing you can do is to act like there’s nothing suspicious about you,” he told me. Easy for him to say. And Mom of all people agreed with him! “You can’t stop living your life just because you’re afraid,” she told me."
Lisette was ready to be changed. She wanted to grow up and be a full member of her clan. And then, when she did, she found that she really wasn't part of her family because, she had become.... a werevulture! Being a teenager was bad enough, but didn't that garbage look good?
In true style, Emily Martha Sorensen weaves a fantasy into a mystery and sprinkles it with teenaged angst. This was a fun book to read, and wonder what the second book will be like. I recommend this book
