Trillionaire Boys' Club: The Clothing Mogul

Book 2, Trillionaire Boys' Club

This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.

Description

“You have to fall in love,” Alyssa suggests. And then, because she’s my publicist, she adds the key word: “Publicly.”

My name is Ashton Moran, and I’m CEO of the $2.2 billion Hurricane Apparel company. You’d think that’d be enough, but it’s not. Not for Alyssa. She says my public image sucks. She says my being a womanizer is hurting Hurricane’s brand.

So she found this girl, Jenna, who I’m supposed to pretend I’m in love with for the press. I’m not supposed to sleep with any other women for as long as this farce goes on. Only with Jenna — if she’s into it, which she will be.

I understand what Alyssa is trying to do by making Hurricane more “family friendly,” but … Me? In love? With only one woman?

There’s no way this is going to work.

The Clothing Mogul is part of the Trillionaire Boys’ Club series by Aubrey Parker. Each book tells the story of one of the Club’s powerful members … and you’re going to want to collect them all.

Rock You Like A Hurricane

This is the second book in this series. You don't need to read them in order, but if you are like me, you will want to, since characters are mentioned &/or in the book. I love Aubrey's books, writing, and he has once again pulled me into this world that only he can pull off! If you've read his books, you will know what I mean and if you haven't, this is a must read! Ashton Moran is a hot, alpha billionaire, with an attitude problem. His publicist, Alyssa, knows this is hurting his clothing line, Hurricane. She comes up with a solution...take this CEO player and find him a woman for the media. Jenna Green is a college student, who is home for break, but she's dealing with some internal things. When she's offered to play the part of Ashton's fake girlfriend, even though they both can barely tolerate being in the same room, she takes it. That's where this book goes all over, in a good way, I think... Hot scenes that rock like a hurricane, twists and turns, and so much more that nobody sees coming (the characters or the reader)! Will Ashton get Jenna to confront herself? Will Ashton realize he doesn't want just a fake girlfriend?

Stick with it! It's worth it.

Warning! The male protagonist, Ashton Moran, is so completely reprehensible at the start of this book that after the scene at the zoo you might be tempted to say "screw this" and bemoan the loss of the money you paid for the book.

I'm not sure how many readers react to books like I do. From reading reviews and online blogs and Facebook group posts I'd say it's most...we need to like the protagonists. We need people to root for. We need to become invested. At the start of The Clothing Mogul I was completely disgusted and just about ready to consign the book to my reject section in iBooks. Oh, and not just with Ashton but with the female protagonist Jenna as well. There's just no way someone responds the way she does to his actions, or if there is she DEFINITELY isn't a character I'm going to like or root for...she's someone totally lacking in backbone or self-esteem which I have no tolerance for.

But I stayed with it because I've liked Parker's previous books and hoped things would improve. And thankfully they did. Gradually the reader comes to understand the characters and gets an inkling of what might motivate them. We do start to get invested and begin to root for them. I would have liked a little more depth of character on Ashton...the vague references to his parents are annoying. There are a few points where I feel like I missed something (no specifics as there would be spoilers). The ending seems to come up fast and is a bit abrupt. I am sure we'll hear more about Ashton and Jenna in the next books but I would have liked a bit more info at the end. I feel like I got cut off too soon on their story.

But as I said at the start, it's worth it and I do recommend the book.

Love Ashton

Ashton Moran is a man you love to hate. Ashton's assistant Alysa comes up with a plan for Ashton to fall in love to help him make more money. They have the perfect woman to ask,Jenna. Jenna never wants a relationship and could use the money so she is a perfect fit. But when the lines blur will they walk away or will they both find something they weren't expecting? Ashton at first I couldn't stand but then it all changes and you can't help to love him. I love Jenna and Ashton together, the banter was priceless and the sex smokin hot. Once you start reading you will not be able to stop. I can't wait to read the next books ok in this series.
