#2, The Turning Series
J. A. Huss
This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.
I lived in the dark for three years. My whole world revolved around the whims and happiness of three men. It was just a trip into the forbidden. A way out of a bad situation and forward into nothingness.
Quin, with his easy smile and charming good looks. He was always there for me... Until he wasn't.
Smith, and his dispassionate attention. He was never there for me and he never regretted it.
Bric, the one who listened, but only to himself. Self-absorbed, self-obsessed, and self-serving. He was never the one I wanted.
And now he might be the only one I have left.
It was good while it lasted, I guess. But it could've been so much more. It could've been so much better.
And that's why I'm turning back.
Book two is even better
Turning Back is the second book in the Turning series and while technically it could be read as a stand-alone, I personally feel you should read book one - Taking Turns - to fully understand the dynamic friendship these gentleman have. As with most everything this author writes she captures your attention from the epilogue and leaves you guessing until the final chapters and this one is no different. This book deals with much more BDSM elements than the first one and is in no way for the faint of heart ( reader discretion and all that...).
Rochelle Bastille was the perfect player for three years until she up and left, leaving town without any explanation. A year to the day has passed and new information has come to light regarding her whereabouts. The game has fallen apart, does Bric go after her and bring her back to Denver to start fresh or will Quin never forgive him for what happened...
Quin was devastated when she left especially after he found out why. Now she is back in Denver apologizing for all that went down, but can he ever trust her again...
This book brought sexy and sinful to an entirely different level! No one writes ménage as well as Huss did in this book. Seriously can't wait to read the final addition to the series :)
Game on! Another Win!
Game on! Another hit from JA Huss! This may be my favorite Huss book of all—I absolutely LOVED it! In this second installment of the Turning Series, Rochelle returns with her five-month-old baby girl, hoping to pick up where she left off with Bric and Quin, resuming the game. There are secrets and mysteries each of these characters hold that may tear them all apart. Will they be able to move past the pain, hurt and regret and figure out what they really want?
Turning Back is a different kind of love story, filled with angst, regrets, incredibly hot sex and two new dads that made my ovaries explode. We get to know a lot more about each of these characters, who already had me intrigued in Taking Turns and now have my heart beating faster. I still can’t decide which of the three men I’m most in love with, but I think Quin might have the slightest edge over Bric, although that distance might be measured in millimeters. And of course, there is F*ing Smith (who reminds this fan a lot of F*ing Ford)!
I can’t wait for the third (and final?) book in the series, His Turn, to come out, and might have to do a total re-read while I’m waiting because I can’t get enough of this game.
Compelling, Provocative, and Absolutely Riveting!!!
Truly, madly, deeply, and deliriously in love with this book! No one, and I mean no one does dark romance like J.A. Huss. Romance, sex, lust, love, and loyalty all come together in this book to create something truly extraordinary. The plot is intriguing and the characters just jump off the page. They are real and raw and beautifully flawed in all the best ways, making them so damned relatable that you just can't help but become invested in their lives. I was hooked from page one and remained riveted to the very last word. This book and series, above and beyond the romantic factor, is about self-exploration, self-realization, and self acceptance. Two people come together, each believing themselves unworthy of love and devotion, and find salvation in one another. This book will touch you and make you really think. I would highly recommend this compelling and provocative book, and I anxiously await the next book in the series.
*I was given an ARC of this book by the author and voluntarily chose to review. All opinions are my own.
