Unlocked: Rekindled Flames
This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.
Alonna Carrington, tied too long to her dead fiancé’s memory, has lost all belief in love. Prepared to replace hope with pleasure, her chance encounter with a mysterious media mogul rekindles a distant memory and a desire she craves beyond control.
Donovan Derbinay has dreamed of Alonna for all eternity...and that isn’t his only secret. So much more than a soulmate, she is his Twin Flame. Yet she doesn’t remember their love or their shared lives or how tragedies have taken her from him time after time.
But this life is different from the others, and Donovan must unlock Alonna’s heart and awaken the memories of their shared past before the flame of their spellbound hearts is extinguished forever.
This book had a neat concept. Soul mates are supposed to be the ultimate bond between a couple but this author introduces something much more powerful, something called Twin Flames. I love the idea of two souls coming together life after after life. To have something that strong that even death can't take away is intriguing.
In previous lives, there love is cut very short. These two must give themselves completely to each other to not repeat the same mistakes they've made in past lives. I'm not exactly clear on what they did wrong in the past lives but it seems it always involved a jealous lover. This probably gets explained more in the next book.
In present time, they have the same interference. What bothers me about this story and makes the Twin Flame not believable to me is that there is other woman in Donovan's life. He is engaged when he meets Alonna. He breaks it off, but we still have to deal with the ex throughout the story. And the biggest thing that made the bond of a Twin Flame not believable to me, he openly flirts with one of Alonna's best friends. This may seem trivial, but if this is the ultimate bond between a couple, there shouldn't be any hint of other women/men in their lives. Even flirtation. If it wasn't for this, I would have really loved this story. I'm a huge fan of a relationship that is so strong, nothing can break it. This one just didn't seem strong.
