"Instincts are what keep us safe from fate. Ignoring them can change your life forever."
Fame and fortune arrived overnight and after months on the road with her singing tour, all Estelle craves is peace. Tired and ready for paradise, she travels to Fiji to recuperate.
Stubborn and surly, Galloway is avoided by most--which is exactly the way he likes it. However, he's done spending his life in regret and hopes to find redemption in the tropical wilderness.
Together, they board the flight that changes their fate forever. Crash landing on a deserted island, they not only have to figure out how to survive with no skills and daily dangers--learning how to fish, find water, and build shelter--but also inherit two children who look to them to keep them alive.
However, staying alive might be the least of Galloway and Estelle's problems. As days creep to months and rescue doesn't find them, their desire for each other ignites.
They started as strangers.
They grew to be friends.
They fought the desire to be lovers.
Lust can be the most beautiful thing. Love the most rewarding. But not on an island where life hangs by a thread and giving into temptation can kill you.
Can they survive being forgotten or will love be their ultimate undoing?
Totally island wrecked me!
I promised a review for an Advanced Copy... I will admit to being so excited for this book! I have read everything out by this author. Her dark romance literally had me spellbound crying, screaming, and holding my breath! This is not a dark romance, but a contemporary romance about a woman not looking at the messages screaming at her to change her course. There aren't enough words to say read this! I'm not a great writer, but this should be a must read. It was so good!
Estelle just found fame as an singer/songwriter and is looking forward to going home after a long time on the road performing on tour. She is totally unused to her life that recently changed so much. She is trying to board a flight home. Everything that could go wrong for her at check-in did. She ignores those signs when everything in her is screaming don't go.
Galloway has been studying under one of the best architects that specializes in what he wants to build. He believes he doesn't deserve love or redemption.
This book makes you think how would you feel if your entire existence was stripped from you. What if your whole world came down to 3 strangers who are broken, but become your everything. Children who depend on you to help them cope. How are you gonna teach them live?
I have to say even though this book wasn't classified as dark I still had the moments when I cried and wanted to throw my kindle against the wall. Pepper Winters is a genius of this type of writing. She is the master of writing those moments that make you hold your breath. From that first kiss which burned up the page to the realization of what if I try but in the end I am rejected, or if the worst you can imagine happens.
These characters had to find ways to support their lives. What they feel is their self-worth is taken away, and they have to redefine what it means to them. G needing love and so unsure of his worthiness. Estelle needing him and is so sure she will disappoint him. They became a family by necessity not in a traditional way. You can't help but love all of these characters. You can't help but feel their heartache and grief, but you also feel their joy as they figure out a way to survive.
I should have known this book would leave me island-wrecked... It was a book I couldn't put down... Winters is masterful. This author can't write fast enough for me!
An Outstanding Read! FIVE STARS!!!!!
First, YOU NEED THIS BOOK!!!! Period. Don't hesitate. Just one-click it and dive in.
Second, this book blew me away. Completely. Pepper snatched my heart from my chest, played with it, stomped on it a bit, shoved it back in and nursed it back to health. In other words, I felt it. Every. Single. Word.
It was not the typical dark read from Pepper. It was a beautiful, moving, angst-filled, powerful roller coaster of a ride. Pepper created soul-mates, bound together through every cursed and hopeful situation imaginable. At one point, I was a blubbering, crying mess because I was deeply invested in the characters of Estelle and Galloway. My couch was littered with tissues and my eyes were blurry as I raced to the end of their story. And it was worth every single tear I shed for them.
Having said that, it WAS a typical Pepper Winters book. The story was full of vivid emotions, slowly revealed secrets, passionate physical attractions, loving intimacy, dark foreboding, uncontrollable destiny and an all-consuming love between a man and woman. It was a phenomenal love story that stayed with me long after I finished the book.
Unseen Messages now sits on my Ultimate Book List reserved only for books that evoke the deepest of feelings. If I could give it SIX STARS, I would!

The story's premise as well as title is based on unseen messages that are ignored in life or not so ignored leading to a new path or a different path that ultimately might be the same fate or not.

A note from Pepper Winters:
The following novel is a blend of truth and fable. The messages truly happened; the outcome & subsequent fate did not. This story was inspired by my flight home in 2015. Each thing that happened, happened to me. Each issue and fear was my own experience, right down to the clothes Estelle wears, to what she shoves in her pocket. That’s complete truth. What happened afterward... I’ll let the characters tell you their tale.
It's a story woven in fate. Fate works in mysterious ways always testing ones ability to adapt. A story woven in messages.
My favorite part about a Pepper Winters story is how a man is complete with a strong, capable, and independent woman by his side.
Once I began reading the unknown and expected story I was blown away and captivated by this journey. At times I felt a certain familiarity with the story and then other times I was transported into an enlightened tale that gave me everything I needed and everything I was not aware I needed. It's a lengthy story but a fulfilling story that I'm proud to have had the privilege of reading.
