VAL-MAR Gifted and Cursed 2
This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.
I know it sounds crazy.
Like a goddam black and white rerun.
Yeah… TV… acting and make-up and shit…
I would never believe in… nothin’ like that.
Masterfully done. Period.
Though the story is fascinating, the star of Val-Mar is definitely the visuals. Masterfully framed and executed, they tell the story to the point where the words are just dressing. Visual narrative at its finest. Unlike some comics that rely heavily on words, Val-mar sweeps you into stylistic trip reminiscent of a film-noir. In typical Val-Mar fashion, you get so caught up by the breath-taking cinematic action you simply cannot believe it's over! Grey Williamson truly is a master at what he does. I'm impatiently waiting for the next issue.
Amazed—Yeah... For real.
After downloading the digital book, i’m left with a visceral need for the next issue in a physical paper comic, so I can touch the art, read the page with serendipitous abandon and then, stow (my second unread copy, yeah it deserves that level of geekdum) in my treasured comic collection. The writing waxes poetic, then dresses in the fine linens of immersive art that seizes your heart and mind —reminding you of what a comic should be…. My only complaint — two short. I want more!
VAL-MAR: GIFTED AND CURSED 2
A master class in kinetics, and visual storytelling. Grey Williamson balances minimalism and complexity, with the technical acumen of a true artisan. Pulls you in and doesn’t let go.
