The Cost of Good Decisions on a Leader's Reputation
This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.
When we lead, particularly when we lead in ministry, we get to make a difference in this world. Our hope is to see lives changed for the better, to impact the lives of the people around us. Because our vision is filled with good intention, we often aspire to fill the role of hero. But what happens when our good intention and our faithfulness to God's calling leaves us disliked, even targeted? What do we do when the right call disappoints the people that we mean to serve? The truth is that Jesus was not hailed as a hero by the influencers of His time. Good leadership means getting comfortable operating in a new category: Righteous Villain.
This book is a short and encouraging read for anyone who has made a tough decision in leadership that cost them their reputation. I highly recommend it!
Wow! Amazing read.
Love this book! It amazingly helps to see a different look at how our actions are seen by others and even how the biblical characters in their day and were seen by their peers and how we can be seen as the same and that is ok. Favorite quote:
“If we are leading get by being the ‘hands and feet of Jesus,’ we cannot forget what Jesus’ enemies did to his hands and feet.”
Great read. Filled with instantly useful leadership guidance. Highly quotable and perfect for any leadership situation, but particularly for those leaders who find themselves leading a new team or guiding change.
