Waking Eden

By far my favorite of the three, although each story focuses on a specific couple, we get more answers and information about the overarching story arc. Answers are coming about the prophesy and while many of the repercussions are still nebulous, the understanding of one’s role is clearer, at least to Ramsay. He NEEDS to find the puzzle and work it out.

Even as he’s decried connections and entanglements, when he first heard Trinity’s voice he couldn’t stop the strong and strange reaction of MINE running through his head. He’s not interested, or so he tells himself, but he can’t possibly stay away. For her part, Trinity’s life has been troubled. She knows she’s not entirely human, but she’s not sure what it means or what benefits she can gain from it. To this point, she’s afraid to touch anyone since seeing every secret of a person when she was little. She’s blocked herself off from people – retreating in books and the comfort they provide, sharing their wonders with patrons of the library.

From the start, the connection between Ramsay and Trinity is different. She’s not experiencing the soul-shaking sightings when they touch, and her desire for contact without the images and secrets overwhelm her. While Ramsay is trying to puzzle out why she and his sister-in-law have the same pendant, he’s more than willing to step in and be her teacher for all things sensual.

We do see some of Serena’s continued plans to enslave humans, as well as several moments with Lexi and Eryx as they are working to dissemble the prophecy and defeat or forestall Serena’s plans as she manipulates and masterminds for control. With a few more insights into the story as pieces start to fit into their place in the puzzle, this instalment is a wonderful addition. Not a story that would be easy to follow if you haven’t read the earlier books, this is my favorite for the wonderful connection and depth that is coming forward with each pairing. The mysteries around the prophecy aren’t half bad either, and while I have some ideas of where it could go, Rhenna Morgan has again managed to create interest and drop a few hints to further my interest.

I enjoyed this book.

While each book in the Eden series focuses on a separate couple, I would suggest starting with book one. I started with book 3 and felt like I missed the beginning of the story, because I did. That does not take away from how much I really enjoyed this book. I am definately going back to book one and starting over. This is one of those series that although they feature different couples, you get the continuation of the couples from previous books. Every single character in this book was important and I was drawn to each and every one of them. This story line is fresh and is steadily building towards an epic ending. I highly recommend this series to readers who love paranormal romance.
