The walk of shame.
Ah, yes, there’s nothing quite like shamelessly letting yourself be dragged off to a storage closet by a younger man to really put the cherry on top of your humiliation sundae. It’s been a long, slow trip to the bottom, but I’ve finally reached my limit. After spending the night with Christopher Fellows, and slinking out of his apartment in the wee hours of the morning, I have no choice but to take a serious look at myself. It’s time for a change. A real life overhaul, full of self-development, healthy living, and all that other stuff that’s supposed to be good for you.
And what better way to find yourself than with a vow of celibacy and a trip to Belize? The way I figure it, if you’re going to get your act together, you might as well begin with a tropical jaunt to paradise to start your transformation off on the right foot.
What could possibly go wrong?

Loved this story. It's a quick, sexy, fun story and it was nice to read about one of the good guys out there. Ashley's life has gone a bit off the rails after her last relationship fell apart. After another humiliating walk of shame she decides she needs to get control again. That's it...no more men. For at least a year. Possible?? Deciding she needs to get away and get her head straight she's off to a nice resort for some relaxation. Imagine her surprise to find her last hookup, Christopher, staying at the resort as well. He may be there for a medical conference but he has plenty of time to play. Both of these characters are great but the way Christopher treats Ashley just makes your heart melt.
This is definitely a book I recommend. It's light, breezy and a lot of fun to read. Perfect for a relaxing afternoon read.
The Morning After...
Ashley is the queen of making bad decisions. The "Walk of Shame" was the wake up call to her downward spiral. While sitting on a park bench, Ashley realizes she doesn't like who she's become, so she sets off on a vacation to Belize to "find herself". The first day in Belize, is going quite well until her one night stand (Christopher) happens upon her at the beach. He thinks she's a stalker, while she thinks he followed her there. In her drunken stupor, she didn't remember that Christopher had told her he was going to a medical conference in Belize.....
Ashley has a self-imposed vow of celibacy and a hang up about Christopher being 5yrs younger than her. Christopher has no hang ups and KNOWS they are meant to be together. Christopher uses the time they have together in Belize to show her that they can be friends and build from there. Can he do it?
This is the first Jennifer Dawson novella I've read, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised! This novella was short, introspective, and romantic. I loved Ashley's interactions with Christopher's doctor friends! The scene on the dance floor between the ladies was AWESOME! I enjoyed Christopher's easy going manner and his ability to show his love for Ashley through his actions--not just sex. This novella is a stand alone with no cliffhanger!!! It also has a HEA. Yay!!! I read a gifted copy of this novella and all opinions stated are my own.
