This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.

True desire always finds a way . . .

On the night before the final battle against Napoleon, Lady Delphine St. James finds herself dancing with the one man she has always wanted, Major Lord Stephen Ives. He makes it clear he has no time for a lady he sees as flirtatious and silly, but as the call to arms sounds, she bids him farewell with a kiss that stirs them both. When he returns gravely injured, she is intent on caring for him, even if his surly behavior tests her patience.

After the battle, Stephen is not only wounded and blind, but falsely accused of cowardice and theft. The only light in his dark world is Delphine, the one woman he never imagined he could desire. But she deserves more than he can give her.

As their feelings deepen and hidden enemies conspire to force them to part forever, can their love survive the cruelest test of all?

From Publishers Weekly

Jul 28, 2014 – Cornwall's nifty Regency meanders a bit, but it boasts a solid story with plenty of plot twists. On the eve of a definitive battle against Napoleon's army, Lady Delphine St. James eyes Royal Dragoon Major Lord Stephen Ives across a crowded ballroom. Though he barely registers her presence, she boldly sets forth to greet him personally and wish him luck in the upcoming fight. When drunken Captain Rothdale intervenes, requesting a dance from Delphine, Stephen smartly rescues her. After being wounded and blinded in the battle, Stephen recovers all but his sight under Delphine's tender care. But fellow Dragoons accuse him of theft and cowardice under fire, and the evil Rothdale has his eyes on Delphine's dowry. Cornwall steadily develops both characters and plot, and the reader's hopes ebb and flow with Stephen and Delphine's shifting fates.

A Most Wonderful Love Story!

I really, really loved this story about Stephen and Delphine. Delphine was a courageous soul for the time she lived in, not caring what her parents wanted for her and going after what she wanted for herself in her work and men…no matter the cost. It was hard for Stephen to understand and believe in such courage because he knew what the cost might be in society’s eyes. So, despite his love for Delphine, Stephen kept trying to push her away and the push/pull of their courtship made my heart hurt in exasperation and impatience. The mystery to be solved about Stephen’s record during the Napoleonic war was woven throughout their story masterfully by the author, and the suspense kept me flicking the pages more rapidly every chapter…until the end. This romance has convinced me to read all that Lecia has written and will write as I love her style!
