I have been following the Wheat Belly plan for almost 2 months. I no longer feel like I have to eat every few hours, my cravings for sweet, grainy, high carb food is gone. I eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full....something I haven't experienced before. Bloating is gone, gas is gone ( good riddance!) and no more heartburn. I've lost 11 lbs and have lost inches as well. I had tried low carb before and lost weight, but always gained back as soon as I re-introduce carbs. Now, because of Wheat Belly, I know the reason why. I'll never eat wheat again, it's just not worth it to me.
I only weighed 118 before reading this book and eliminating wheat from my diet . I finally lost those last 8 pounds in one month .my acne cleared and my energy is high and I don't crave bread anymore!!!!
I found the book to be really well researched but the author went out of his way to make his point over and over and over. I am a chemist by trade so this may have been my own bias. I got it!! I did not need the endless reinforcement. I am on a month-long experiment to see if wheat may be at the root of my constant bloating and embarrassment at the gaseous effluent. I am not terribly overweight at 5'5 and 135 but could drop the extra ten. Wish me luck. I hope this works.
