Hauntingly poetic and beautiful!
Lyrik and Tamra's story was hauntingly poetic and heartbreakingly beautiful. From the very first page I was sucked in with the authors gripping words and I couldn't put it down until that perfect epilogue!
The book was quite an emotional ride. A.L. Jackson has a way with words and she weaves the perfect web and doesn't let you go until you feel every last bit of it in your soul.
Lyrik and Tamra's journey was a really rough, yet perfect one. They both are trying to escape a raw and painful past that they just can't seem to get away from. There's many twists and surprises that come along!!! If you're a fan of A.L. Jackson then you know her books are jam packed with angst and gut wrenching emotions so grab the tissues and maybe some wine!
Beyond 5 stars!!
Where do I begin with this review of Where Lightning Strikes? This book was absolutely amazing and beautifully written with so much passion. The emotions flowed from the pages. I could feel all the sorrow, pain, passion and joy. Lyrik and Tamar had an undeniable connection that neither one of them could deny. Two completely broken people hiding behind a mask that they put forward for the world to see to hide their fragmented hearts. I didn't think think I would be able to fall for anyone like I did Sebastian, but Lyrik is right there with him! He is the buzz before the strike! I will never be able to watch a thunderstorm without thinking about this amazing story! AL Jackson "you sing my soul!"

Perfection. I feel all light and airy and impassioned and emotional at the same time. A.L. Jackson just keeps getting better. Her writing is poetry in prose with a quiet intensity that grips you from the very first word and doesn't let up. Lyrik and Tamar's story is appropriately named as their journey is infused with sparks that burn between them until they were no longer able to be contained.
Tamar and Lyrik have known each other for some time since their best friends Shea and Sebastian are married and living their dreams together. Now that the band is back in Savannah after their tour, Tamar is determined to keep ignoring Lyrik and his (she tells herself) unwanted advances. She's doing everything in her power to never repeat her past mistakes and Lyrik's hostile beauty is a danger she doesn't need. She's running from a past she wants to forget but the perilous look in Lyrik's eyes calls to her even as she tries to deny it.
Lyrik purposefully lives up to the bad boy rock star image. He's got demons chasing him and he's dangerously close to succumbing to them. But there is something about Tamar that calls to him. He can get any girl he wants, usually two. But he finds himself chasing after Tamar even when one of his rules is that he doesn't care. He has his loyalty and that doesn't allow him to feel things especially about someone like Tamar who has the ability to rip him wide open.
As Tamar and Lyrik start to cross every line they've ever created, their passion burns brightly but so does regret, shame and bitterness. Two people so broken by their pasts that they can't see a future are combustable. But when their hearts ignite, nothing is left contain the flames.
Having adored Shea and Baz's story, I thought I knew Tamar and Lyrik but I was so wrong. There was so much more to these characters than I ever anticipated. My heart absolutely broke for the two of them both separately and together. As their pasts were slowly revealed I was honestly shocked by the turns their lives took. I have to admit I never in a million years would have guessed their secrets. A.L. Jackson did such a phenomenal job of opening up these characters that I felt everything they went through. I laughed with them. Swooned with them. Was angry with them. And loved with them. Even when my heart hurt, I trusted that Ms. Jackson wouldn't let me down and boy did she ever come through for me. The ending was beyond gorgeous.
I love the boys of Sunder. Both Baz and Lyrik's stories have gipped my heart and become two of my favorite rock star stories. I am absolutely giddy for more. After Baz's story I was desperate for Austin's story (which is next--yippee!) but now I am almost delirious with want for Ash and Zee's story. The beauty of Where Lightning Strikes has just proved, once again, why A.L. Jackson is one of my very favorite authors.
