Why Nobody Wants to Go to Church Anymore (Enhanced Edition)

And How 4 Acts of Love Will Make Your Church Irresistible

This book is available for download with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device, and with iTunes on your computer. Books can be read with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.

Description

This book will forever change the way you think about church! The statistics are clear: The American church is in decline. People are leaving in astounding numbers, with no sign of a turnaround. And despite church leaders’ best efforts to stem the tide, more than 80 percent of people are finding something better to do on Sunday mornings. Why? Is there hope for the future of the church? In this groundbreaking new book, Thom and Joani Schultz expose the church practices that are driving people away and thwarting spiritual growth. Yet they also reveal what can bring them back—the four keys to reaching the “unchurched” and the “dechurched.” The bad news? Your church is probably missing the mark when it comes to the core of Christianity. The good news? There’s hope. Lots of it. The truth may surprise you…but it can also transform your ministry into something truly irresistible.

Not working

The book keeps closing out after I one it. I have the proper operating system and version of iBooks, but it dies not seem to be working. Help!

Downloads fine, works great; inspired and timely!

I'm a pastor of a traditional-style church, struggling to sort out how to be church in a changing, urban environment. What the authors suggest is entirely true: it's about building relationships and connections with one another and with God. If that isn't at the core of what you do, um, why are you doing it?
They're right... The church, as it was conceived in the 1950's and before, is broken, and some of what we have tried to replace it with, is even more damaged.
The Schultzes offer some real and practical suggestions, and some tools to help implement them. I have used some of Group Publishing's material before and have found it really well-made and helpful. I look forward to learning more about what they are suggesting and exploring it with them.
