Customer Reviews
Thoroughly Enjoyable
Penny is as high-spirited as the horses she breeds at her precious Horngate estate. But since women cannot own property during this period in English history, she is at the mercy of her reckless male cousin who loses the place in a high-stakes card game. Worst, as part of the bet, Penny must also marry the winner and new owner of her home.
Marcus is a professional gambler. Winning Horngate gives him the respectability he has always craved. Being forced to marry a supposedly naive, country lass in order achieve it is a tolerable necessity until he meets the fiery, independent woman who will soon undermine his best-laid plans in order to keep her home, her horses, and her freedom.
These two scheming and likable characters will soon experience the delicious turmoil that love is about to have on their lives.
An engaging Regency romance.
Thoroughly enjoyable.
Mary Gillgannon never disappoints.
