She waited for ever to fall in-love.
For him, forever came with a price.
I never meant to meet Nathaniel Teller.
It was by accident, on a Tuesday, that I walked into his bar.
He was solemn, intense and hiding a secret behind those stoic green eyes.
I never intended to fall in-love with him. We were supposed to be just friends.
But I fell for him hard, deep. There’s no turning back.
I never thought his past would be so dark.
And if I thought I had any chance of being his future, I was wrong.
Because his past is his future.
And I need to walk away.
5 "Olive Juice" Stars! Amazing Book!!!!
I fell in love with Jeannine Colette’s writing when I read Pure Abandon last summer. Pure Abandon is this amazing, forbidden/edgy book that captivated me from the first page and instantly became one of my favorite books. I read it in one sitting and couldn’t stop thinking about it for days. And from then on, I became a super fan of this author. I needed to know if she had more books, I needed to know what was next. Her writing is that good, she is that talented and more and more people should read her books. One of the things I love about her books is that the characters are always so real and so flawed, which is great and so refreshing these days. The other thing I love is the storytelling. Jeannine has this amazing ability to make you feel like you’re there, in these locations, and feeling what the characters are feeling.
Wild Abandon is book #3 in the Abandon series and can be totally read as a standalone although I super recommend the previous two books. This story is set in Napa and is all sorts of awesome. We first meet the heroine, Crystal, in Reckless Abandon, she’s Emma’s co-worker and friend and she totally deserved her own book. Wild Abandon starts with Crystal leaving New York and seeking a fresh start in Napa. Crystal wants to find the one, she longs to find that once in a lifetime love after a lot of heartbreak. Crystal is looking for love in the wrong places, some of those scenes are the funniest in the book, until she meets Nate (Nathaniel).
“The smell of him, the feel of his hands in my hair, the taste of Nate are intoxicating me in so many ways that I forget where we are, who we are, what we are.”
Crystal and Nate start out as friends, but their chemistry is off the charts since the first moment, and you just know they just need to be together. But, as the blurb suggests, it won’t be that easy and they are in for a bumpy ride, one I you will need to read to understand. In the interest of honesty, this is usually not my favorite story, but man Jeannine totally sold the story to me and made me a believer. Sometimes, it’s all about the execution, and the execution is great on this book. I will just say that this is an epic love story, full of feels, all of them! I cried, I laughed, I cried some more and I got frustrated at times. This is definitely not your traditional love story, but it’s beautiful nonetheless.
“I have so much to explain. So much to tell you. Right now, I just want to be a man making love to a beautiful woman. I want to touch you. I want to kiss you. I want to be with you, Crystal. I’ll tell you everything. My story, my life. You might want to run. Oh God, I hope you don’t run. But, for now, please, let me love you. Let me be Nate.”
I loved both Nate and Crystal, they were both very likeable. My heart also broke for both and their situation at times. I also loved the secondary characters, they complement the story in the best way possible. The book flows perfectly and the writing is just gorgeous. I guarantee you will love this book and the underlying message of hope, fate and unconditional love. In a sea of mediocre, poorly written and more of the same books, this one is a standout gem. I wholeheartedly recommend this author and this book!
“Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with you. And it’s not because I was lonely. You complete me in a way no one else ever has.”
Oh how I love Jeannine's writing. I fell in love with her writing when I read the first two books in the Abandoned series. So when I heard that there was a third coming out, I knew it was going to be amazing.
Wild Abandon is a truly beautiful heartbreaking love story. The writing pulls you in and holds you captive to where you literally can't do anything but keep flipping the pages to find out what's going to happen. I fell in love with Crystal who is such a strong and independent women, and Nate who is truly just a remarkable man that you can't help but love him. I was rooting for them the entire book.
Such an amazing read and definitely at the top of my favorite reads this year!! 5+ stars!!
Everything I want for the perfect book!
I was lucky enough to beta read for this amazing book and let me tell you, there was not much "beta-ing" going on and a whole bunch of completely getting lost in the story was happening because it was already perfect.
I just loved Nate. He's mysterious, caring and what you want every man to be.
There were parts that I was laughing out loud and then parts where I was tearing up. This book fit every mold for what I want in a perfect book and I love Jeannine's writing more with every book.
Definitely a must read!
