At twenty-two, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother’s death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life. With no experience or training, driven only by blind will, she would hike more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State—and she would do it alone. Told with suspense and style, sparkling with warmth and humor, Wild powerfully captures the terrors and pleasures of one young woman forging ahead against all odds on a journey that maddened, strengthened, and ultimately healed her.

This book was wonderful from start to finish. It often made me think of my own mother, not realizing how much I loved and needed her until after she was gone and it was too late. How I would love to take such a hike and find myself. Thank you Cheryl. You truly made the PCT come to life.
I'm a picky reader but this book was not easy to put down!! It made me cry and laugh and cry some more, especially after learning about Doug. It was awesome!!
I really enjoyed this book. Most of the time I felt that I was on the PCT with her. The story inspired me... she has a lot of courage to do what she did. I didn't want to stop reading!
