Winter Prey, Northwood Prey Book 1
Dark Paranormal Suspense, no. 1
This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
Terrified she will harm her newly-adopted daughter in the throes of a PTSD flashback, Kymbria James travels to the far Northwood of Minnesota to work with a Native American healer. As the monster captures one after another tribal member and drags each off to its lair, Kymbria is forced into the quest to destroy it. She must confront both her emotional situation and the monster…if she can find the courage to do so.
In Winter Prey...Simmons takes some of the familiar elements of horror stories and turns them on their head, making the reader look at familiar situations in a completely new light. The overall result is a novel feels both familiar and fresh at the same time and that is one heck of an exciting read. I can’t wait for the sequel! A riveting story that hooked me from beginning to end. Mary Kennedy, author of The Talk Radio Mysteries
The entire cast of characters is captivating, and even the windigo itself prowls off the page as a multifaceted monster with a troubled past and a new purpose this hunting season.
