Wrong Brother, Right Match

Book 3, Anyone but You

This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.

Matchmaking guru Kennedy Pepperdine’s life is perfect. Perfect job. Perfect friends. Perfect boyfriend. Except...when she gets trapped in an elevator with a handsome stranger, she accidentally confesses a secret: maybe her perfect boyfriend, Justin, isn’t so perfect for her after all. But a matchmaker should be able to successfully match herself, right? Thankfully, she’ll never see the handsome stranger again. Until she heads home with Justin for the holidays and learns that the sexy stranger is none other than Justin’s older brother, Matt.

Matt Ellis is trying to be on his best behavior for his mother—it is Christmas, after all. But when he recognizes the beautiful woman from the elevator—the one he hasn’t been able to stop thinking about for months—his best behavior is being held by a thread. Matt’s always sacrificed for his family, and nothing is more important than their happiness, but the more time he spends around Kennedy, the more he wonders if her supposed "right match" might just be the wrong brother.

Wrong Brother, Right Match

This book was pretty well written.

Sweet romance

Kennedy likes her life neat and tidy. She runs a matchmaking company and wrote a program to help find the perfect match for her clients. She knows the software works because she tried it on herself and found the 'perfect' man for her, Justin Ellis. Both Justin and she are driven to succeed and their relationship seems perfect.

Matt Ellis is Justin's brother and he runs the family's winery. He hasn't been able to get the woman he met while trapped in an elevator out of his mind. When it turns out that woman is Kennedy - his brother's fiance - he struggles to keep his feelings to himself. And while Kennedy knows that Justin is perfect for her, there is something about Matt that calls to her. With her company on the line, Kennedy needs to decide whether her relationship with Justin is perfect, or if a computer program can't find everything.

Ms. Shirk has written an enjoyable cast of characters. Kennedy is adorable with her little quirks. Matt's love of family and protectiveness comes through and Justin tries his best. The secondary characters are memorable as well, and I enjoyed meeting Barbara, Matt and Justin's mom, and Caitlyn, their sister. Above all, I loved that no one was a bad guy. This is a story about relationships: familial, romantic and work. No one is perfect and everything takes work. What a brilliant message to send.

NB: I received a copy of this book from the author. I have voluntarily chosen to read it.

Some perfection can't be calculated!

Could the irony of this tale be any more delicious?! Kennedy is the owner of a software-based matchmaking company, but the "ideal match" made by that same program is anything but! Justin, the "perfect match", is a workaholic who's relationship with Kennedy comes in a distant second to his own ambitions. Isn't that he's a bad guy, per say...more like an oblivious lunkhead! Frankly, she's a bigger lunkhead for putting up it, especially after meeting, getting stuck and kissing a smoking hot guy in an elevator. And confessing that Justin might not be "all that"!
So, fast forward six months and our "perfect" love birds are engaged and on their was to spend the holidays with his family. Any guesses to who Justin's brother turns out to be? That's right...smoking hot Matt the elevator guy! Talk about awkward, especially since they both still feel the attraction. Justin leaves Kennedy alone with his family, because of course there's some big business emergency.
I'll let you read what happens from there and judge for yourself. I immediately loved Matt. He's a good guy, self-sacrificing, if not a little bit of a door mat compared to Mr.Executive Justin. Kennedy needed a good smack on the head; her search for perfection was a little delusional and she wasn't really fair to either brother. Maybe Justin could be a different man if he met his own "perfect match" but I feel he might have been written into a one dimensional corner for my tastes.
A sweet Christmas romance; I enjoyed it very much!
