Differential Equations

Course Description

This course covers different methods to solve ordinary differential equations of the first and second order with physical and geometrical applications. Other methods include differential operators; Laplace Transform; matrices; solutions in series; eigenvalues and eigenvectors, and numerical approximation. 

This course requires a solid foundation in algebra and trigonometry and strong background in Calculus (I, II, III)- differentiation and implicit differentiation; methods of integration include integration by parts and partial fractions; series; differentiation and integration of functions of two variables; operations on matrices; and determinants.
The prerequisite for the live Differential Equations course is a minimum grade of C in Calculus II.

You will NOT get any credit from taking this course in iTunes U though. You need to enroll as a regular student to receive credits. This course is offered in spring semester only. Please visit this web site for more information.
