Course Description

Are you a rock star Geometry teacher? Do you have great ideas? Would you love to incorporate more of the available internet digital resources into your Geometry class, but don’t have the time to scour the World Wide Web looking for them?  Take heart, the Oklahoma Library of Digital Resources has done all of the legwork for you.  The iTunes U Geometry course has curated many internet resources for you and put them into one, easy-to-use course. The course is organized by Geometry Oklahoma Academic Standards and each standard has links in the following categories: Instructional Materials, Online Games, Apps, Videos, and Student Practice. 

The major concepts covered are: 
  • logical reasoning, 
  • properties of parallel and perpendicular lines, 
  • properties of angles,
  • area of 2 dimensional figures, 
  • surface area and volume of 3 dimensional figures
  • transformations
  • properties of circles, including equation of a circle
  • similarity and congruence of polygons including proofs
  • Pythagorean theorem and distance formula, and
  • special right triangles and trigonometric ratios

What’s more, most of the resources are free! The new Geometry iTunes U digital resources collection will help you enliven your class and allow you to bring the most the internet has to offer right into your classroom with the click of a mouse.
