In this one semester Elective course offered to seniors in the spring semester, students will examine the historically tenuous relationship between science and religion, as well as contemporary issues and thinkers in the field. The course will identify multiple methods of approaching the topic, including a Catholic approach that emphasizes God’s presence in all things. The fourth quarter will be focused on issues in Bioethics, Human Existence, Meaning and Post-Quantum epistemology that invites a departure from a typical Newtonian worldview. The goal of this course is to prepare young men and women to enter a world fraught with hatred and misunderstanding in the Science/Religion debate, responding to
the world with nuance, sophistication, and compassion.
