This Government course is designed to provide Oklahoma teachers digital resources to implement the new OAS standards. Each standard has multiple digital resources including online simulations and games, activities, primary and secondary resources as well as literacy-based lessons
The course has been structured by Oklahoma teachers into topics with relevant standards listed within: Foundations including Constitution and Federalism. Civil Liberties and Civil Rights followed by Political Beliefs and Behaviors including Shared Values. Linking Institutions including Political Parties; Special Interest Groups; Campaigns, Elections, Voting; and Media. Policy Making Institutions including Congress, President, and Judiciary. State and Local including Influence. Public Policy including General, Fiscal and Monetary, and Foreign Policy. Civics Participation including Participation, and Rights and Liberties.
The course also includes general resources such as full text books, online courses, MOOCS, and other web-based resources. Many of the resources are beneficial for teacher lesson plans as well as interactive for student learning.
