Course Description

Why take this course?
We feel strongly that medical schools do not spend enough time preparing you to become a physician in the digital age – this elective is our attempt at getting you familiar with digital healthcare. We also aim to give you specific skills that you can use in your future practice – leveraging social media to interact with your patients, telemedicine, familiarity with bedside and mobile technologies, and tools to curate medical content for yourself and your patients.

Your role in this course?
What we’re asking you to do is to take some time out of your already busy schedule to listen and read; we’re asking you to learn; we’re asking you to participate; and we’re asking you to think. We’re asking you to think about how technologies impact or will impact the way that you practice medicine now and in the future. More importantly, we’re asking you to think about how these technologies will impact the way that you teach medicine to your fellow students, residents, and attendings, but most importantly we’d like you to think about how these technologies will impact the way that you teach health to your peers and to your patients.
