Presidential Debates are unique and important milestones in the electoral process. Not only do they reveal how the candidates differ on critical issues facing the country, but they offer a glimpse into the personalities of the men and women who seek the highest office in the land. The debates are one of the only times the candidates are alone on a stage, facing off with their opponents unaided by ad makers and speechwriters. PBS NewsHour has collected these videos, audio clips, text articles, lesson plans and an iBook to explore the meaning, history and strategy behind the presidential debates.
