Lord of the Rings III: Return of the King
by Signum University
This course material is only available in the iTunes U app on iPhone or iPad.
Course Description
Corey Olsen, The Tolkien Professor, is about to begin a two-month study of The Return of the King, and you are invited to participate! We will discuss the book in eight sessions, once per week, spending three sessions each in Books V and VI, and then two sessions on the Appendices. The class is free and open to the public; the first 100 registrants will be able to participate live in the class discussion, and both video and audio recordings of the classes will be made available to everyone through this website, the Mythgard Academy podcast feed, and an iTunes U course.
This class is the first of the series of open classes made possible by the generosity of all the good people who contributed to our recent and successfully completed Indiegogo campaign. The Return of the King, along with Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card and Tolkien’s Unfinished Tales, were nominated as finalists by the Mythgard council, and the campaign contributors voted in a very exciting election in which over 1,300 votes were cast and which saw the Return of the Kingedge out Ender’s Game by a single vote. It was like Florida 2000, except fun.
If you missed our fundraising campaign but would still like to take part in this wild and bracing electoral process to decide what other open courses we will hold over the rest of the year, it isn’t too late! Check out the terms as laid out in the Indiegogo campaign (linked above), and then make your own contribution to us directly, using PayPal.

Amazing
These courses are simply as stated above; and could not be such without the stewardship of Prof. Corey Olson
