The Gospels - Dr. Robert Cara

by Reformed Theological Seminary

This course material is only available in the iTunes U app on iPhone or iPad.

Course Description

In Dr. Cara's examination of each of the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), attention is given to overall structure, the thematic emphases of each Gospel, and the theological contribution of the Gospels to Scripture and Christian theology.  Listeners are familiarized with the history of Gospel criticism and critical methodologies, while being equipped to defend a traditional approach to Scripture's authority.  Dr. Cara prepares the student to answer challenging hermeneutical questions, as he tackles thorny issues within Evangelical scholarship.  These issues include developments in the interpretation of parables, the meaning of the Kingdom of God, traditional interpretations of the Sermon on the Mount, and the different approaches to the Olivet Discourse.

Customer Reviews

Excellent!

Currently listening to the course along with the reading material recommended. really engaging professor shows his true passion and knowledge regarding interpretation of the Gospels from a conservative position.

Great, but...

Great course, great prof., great theology, but...HORRIBLE audio quality! I know, it's free and I should not complain, but it really gets in the way of focusing on what's being said. Other than that, I really enjoyed the course!
