Course Description

This introductory virology course emphasizes the common reactions that must be completed by all viruses for successful reproduction within a host cell and survival and spread within a host population. The molecular basis of alternative reproductive cycles, the interactions of viruses with host organisms, and how these lead to disease are presented with examples drawn from a set of representative animal and human viruses, although selected bacterial viruses will be discussed.

Customer Reviews

Virology, an assessment of the course and a suggestion.

I enjoyed this course very much ( MD GRADUATED 1971) readily understandable, gives a firm grounding in the basics of virology. Recommend Prof. Beck's I tunes course on immunology as a bookend! Both courses are detailed and give a basis for understanding the future of each discipline. THANK YOU BOTH!

Very nice App

I love your podcast!

I listen to your podcast everyday at work, and I must say, it is the only enjoyable aspect of my work day lol. I enjoy your discussions and am learning a lot from them. I hope to one day be a virologist myself, so I'm hoping that by listening to you, I'll have the upper hand in class! Thanks -Amanda-
