Welcome to the USW Students’ Union Our mission is to extend and defend the rights of students at the University of South Wales.
Our vision: to be the best Students’ Union in Wales and top 10 in the UK.
Our values: Equality, Empathy, Democracy, Diversity, Learning and Openness. Check out our website: for all of the Union’s goodies, including information on Freshers' Week and Open Days! We are located at the Treforest, Caerleon and Cardiff Atrium campuses. Our Students' Union at Treforest is a purpose-built and modern, iconic building — the social hub of the campus, designed to meet all our students’ needs. The University of South Wales (USW) was formed in April 2013 by the merger of the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport. As one of Britain’s most exciting new universities and a major player in higher education, the University is among the top 10 campus universities in the UK by student number and attracts a cosmopolitan mix of students from 120 countries. With over 30,000 students across five campuses, it was rated top for student support in the Times Higher Education Awards 2012. Note: some items in this collection may have been originally published on iTunes U by the University of Glamorgan.
