Description

We take our lead from Christ, who is the source of everything we do. He keeps us in step with each other. His very breath and blood flow through us, nourishing us so that we will grow up healthy in God, robust in love. There is more to the Christian life than just trying to do the right thing or saying that you are a Christian. There is a way to live that not only knows about Jesus, but experiences Jesus. It makes living deeply with God not something you feel like you have to do, but makes it the most exciting, energizing, awesome thing in your life. This year in Chapel we are exploring how belief and practice might be better connected in our Christian lives. No matter how deep or shallow our belief in Jesus may feel to us, we want to be people whose lives reflect what we believe. The very breath and blood of Jesus flow through us, fusing our head and heart, mind and body. As we grow up healthy in God, more connections are made between what we believe and how we live. A synapse is the junction of two nerve cells in the brain to allow the exchange of an electrical current. Synpases are the microscopic messengers of our thoughts, emotions, and physical movements. The more we grow in Jesus, the more deeply our heart and the heart of God experience deep, lasting connections – exchanges of spiritual current that connect us to Jesus. "God's very breath and blood flow through us, nourishing us so that we will grow up healthy in God, robust in love." (Ephesians 4:16). Wednesday evenings in Chapel at 7:30 p.m. (Bauman Auditorium) we will be focusing on our Synapse theme.
