The mission of the Office of Early Academic Outreach at the University of Arizona is to increase the number of ethnic minority, low-income, and first-generation college-bound students who are eligible to enter a degree program at a university. Some of the programs administered by Early Academic Outreach include Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA), the Tucson Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) Project, and College Academy for Parents (CAP). We also offer parent outreach sessions, industry partnerships and mentoring programs. EXCELENCIA IN EDUCATION Early Academic Outreach would like to thank Excelencia in Education and the Walmart SEMILLAS (Seeding Educational Models that Impact and Leverage Latino Academic Success) Grants for providing the funding to support the development of 3 Minutes for College.
