EcoScienceWorks is a National Science Foundation-funded project whose major goal is to develop computer simulations in ecology for the Maine laptop program that will spur student interest in computer modeling in science. In 2008, every MLTI middle school iBook includes the software portion of the project, EcoBeaker Maine Explorer™. The complete curriculum with unit and lesson plans complete with assessments developed by 23 Maine middle school science teachers is available to download following a simple registration from SimBiotic Software (http://www.simbio.com/Maine). More information about the project is available from ScienceWorks for ME (http://www.fbr.org/swksweb/esw.html). Watch the podcasts to learn more about the individual EcoBeaker Maine Explorer™ labs.
