Description

Beginning on March 20, 2012, Ben Bernanke, chairman of the Federal Reserve's Board of Governors, will deliver a series of lectures at the George Washington University's School of Business (GWSB). "Reflections of the Federal Reserve and its Place in Today's Economy" will provide a firsthand look at the inner-workings of the U.S. central banking system. Chairman Bernanke's lectures will begin with the origins and missions of the Federal Reserve, followed by a lecture that will discuss the role and actions of the Federal Reserve in the period after World War II. In the final two lectures, the chairman will review some of the causes of, and policy responses to, the recent financial crisis, focusing specifically on the actions of the Federal Reserve. The eight lectures following the chairman will be given by GWSB faculty.

Monetary Policy > Fiscal Policy

The left thinks he's corrupt because he bailed out Wall Street and the right thinks he's going to create hyperinflation. Neither can be further from the truth. This is an essential series for everyone, from monetary policy wonks to those who think the Fed is a branch of the FBI. By the end, you'll know the truth: through a series of unprecedented maneuvers starting in 2008, Ben Bernanke and the Federal Reserve stabilized a crumbling financial sector and were the MOST SIGNIFICANT influence in preventing a second Great Depression.

I only wish he will make more of these sessions available in the future. Thank you very much!!!!!
